after Lascaux, 2022, acrylic ink on Stonehenge,
each 11″ x 15″

These drawings were inspired by images of hands through human history, beginning with the hundreds of handprints on the walls of Lascaux that in the gloom of the cave appear to have been airbrushed in silhouette with ochres and whites. Tens of thousands of years later a similar collection of hands also appeared on the Mayan temple of Ixchel, the water goddess, on the Island of Cozumel in Mexico.
